The Tennessee high school basketball season has begun and some of the most talented players in the Nashville area are starting to emerge. Here are the Tennessee preseason large and small class all-state boys basketball teams.

Large Class.

Caleb Beasley (Lipscomb College, senior, guard): He is a versatile player who can play inside and out. Contributed 19 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season.

Daniel Cochran (Brentwood, senior, forward): a big, strong inside player who dominates in the paint. Contributed 19 points, nine rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 caps per game last season.

Cortez Graham Howard (Hillsboro, senior, guard): All-around guard who can score and grab rebounds. Averaged 13 points per game last season to help Hillsboro reach the state semifinals for the first time since 2005.

Jett Montgomery (Independence, senior, guard): high-scoring guard looking to lead Independence back to the state championship game. Contributed 21.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 steals per game last season.

Tyler Tanner (Brentwood Academy, senior, guard): a dynamic two-way guard who led Brentwood Academy to the II-AA state championship last season. Contributed 18.8 points, 4.6 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.6 steals per game last season.

Small Class Size

Auden Slaughter (Santa Fe, junior, guard): High-scoring guard who shot 38 percent from 3-point range last season. Contributed 29.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Elijah Groves (East Robertson, senior, guard): Kentucky football player who hit the game-winning three-pointer in the 2021 Class 1A state quarterfinals. Contributed 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game last season.

Kavien Jones (BGA, senior, forward): a Tennessee State player who is difficult to defend down low. Contributed 23.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.2 caps per game last season.

Grayson Burleson (Summertown, junior, forward): double-double threat who contributed 22.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last season.

Jayden Jones (Goodpaster, junior, forward): key contributor to last season's Goodpaster State Championship team. Contributed 14.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season.
